Bay Area Information If you're planning a wedding in California, I highly recommend Here Comes the Guide, which is available in both Northern and Southern California editions. For me, the hardest part of the planning was finding a good location for the reception, and this book was absolutely invaluable for that. You get a description of the location, it's cost, and a list of which services it does and does not provide (such as catering, set up/ take down, and parking). They also have some information on other wedding services, but it's mostly useful for the locations. My friend Marcella very kindly gave me her copy of the Norther California edition after her wedding, but it's definately worth the twenty dollars. Order one now! Or, if you're feeling cheap, just search their website. You can search the event locations or the event services. The location information appears to the be same stuff that appears in the books, and there's actually more information about services on the website. For a few more ideas about where to have your wedding, check out the WebGrrls Wedding Spot Ideas Page. This is a collection of suggestions posted to a mailing list I used to belong to. If you're interested in going to a big bridal show, check out this information about Bridal Expos & Shows in Northern California.
