General links || Buy the dress || My vendors Wedding planning is fun. Really. Well, at the very least, it gives you topic of conversation for a year or so. Should we get the rust-colored ribbon, or do we want more of a brick? Should the dress be bright white, platinum white, ivory, antique ivory, or silver? Roses or lilies? Sandals or pumps? You get the idea. Fortunately, I have some awesome bridesmaids to help me out. My good friend Sara has been remarkably patient with my constant worrying about details. She's also sewing her own dress, and she's also an excellent writer, which is why you need to visit: Sewgeeky's sewing journal. Yes, Sara is Sewgeeky, and she's promised to finish her dress at least an hour before the ceremony. Read the journal to get the updates. For some not as well-written observations about this whole wedding planning process, I have my own journal, and I promise not to tell you anything you'd rather not know. Well, unless you'd rather not stuff like my problems finding the right pair of white pumps with a closed toe and ankle straps, in which case you should probably just avoid the journal altogether. This is strictly about planning the wedding, which has absolutely nothing to do with actually being married. What weddings are about is lots and lots of people telling you that you will regret it for the rest of your life if you don't purchase (insert product here). If these people happen to be your mom or anyone you are or will soon be related to, you should probably listen. Otherwise, they may not actually have your best interests at heart. Ok, so that's not a revelation, but it's a good lead-in to my links about planning your own wedding, how to buy a dress, and vendors I can recommend from my wedding.. One of the annoying things about planning your wedding is that it's an entirely non-transferable skill. So I created my planning guide in the hope that my collection of wedding-related links will be useful to someone. |
